I stumbled upon this beautiful movie The Last Bus by searching on Google for "movies similar to The Swimmer" and this was the first movie that popped up.

Both are movies about life's journey, the good, the bad, and the tragedies.

It's funny how one thing connects to another. In the 1980s when I had just read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, I enjoyed it so much that I went back to the second hand bookseller I had bought it from, and I asked him if he had anything else like it, and he said, "This guy is a little similar," and he handed me a book by Charles Bukowski. Bukowski of course led to John Fante.

Extraordinary performance by Timothy Spall.

Great soundtrack also, by Nick Lloyd Webber, the son of Anthony Lloyd Webber.

But I have to warn you, this one is a tear jerker.
